Owen

Work in progress, proving quite tricky to get right. Will eventually be watercoloured and inked.

Had quite a change of tack recently, giving the childrens/political illustration venture a rest in favour of some good ol' portrait painting. Exhibition in the pipeline :)

Bubble Baby

Quick snap of a painting I've been working on this week. Painted from a photo of my Nephew in the bath with bubbles. I'm hoping to get enough portrait work together to exhibit locally and attract some commisions.

It appears that the work I've posted so far has been stylistically inconsistent, I guess its a bit of a phase I'm going through at the moment. Hopefully things will start to level out a bit more soon.

Vincent - A-Level Piece

A quick response to compliments from a fellow student back in the 6th form. This Acrylic painting stands at about 90x75 cm. What d'you reckon Vince?

Shop Magic

The week just past has seen me working full time at bookshop. During quiet moments I took to staring out of the shop window and quickly sketching passers by. The relationships between the hat, collar and glasses lines, which all worked together to frame peoples cold little faces, were most interesting. Above is one page of male pedestrian heads.

Being quite pleased with one particular sketch, I decided to wrench it off the page and see what effect giving it some colour would have. I wasn't too impressed with the results, no added impact or novelty, so feeling defeated I did the usual "lets see what difference photoshop texture effects may have on it".

GEMS!! I don't want to blow my own trumpet but I never been so impressed with the texturiser tool! The far left one is my favourite.

Note: It is a brave man who ventures out wearing a bright yellow woolly hat, a brave man.
